Journey Christian Church is one of the many Christian Churches that grew out of the Stone-Campbell Restoration movement. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restoration_Movement) As such we are an independent church, with no official organization controlling our church and it's vision. However, along with other Christian Churches, we desire to reproduce in doctrine, in life, and in practice the New Testament church that founded by Christ over 2000 years ago.
Our church is open and friendly to everyone. At Journey you will find no special dress code, or ceremony required. Come as you are and join us on our 'journey' to get to know and understand God better.
We strive for the unity of all followers of Christ. Just as Jesus prayed, "May they all be one; as you, Father, are in me and I in you." (John 17:21) This Christian unity should not only be in spirit, but in the daily reality of our lives and the choices we make.
The fact is the world will not truly be reached till the followers of Christ are one. We wear no other name but the one in the Bible for the followers of Christ - Christian (Acts 11:26) We accept no creed but the belief in Christ (Matt. 16:16) We adopt no rule of faith and practice but what is found in the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16, 17)
We practice the ordinances commanded by Christ. One of these is the Christian Baptism which is universally recognized by all followers of Christ, the immersion of the obedient believer in water. The other is the weekly Observance of the Lord's Supper or Communion, which we offer each week as a simple memorial and reminder of our Lord's death for our salvation and forgiveness. (1 Cor. 11:23-30)
Like other Christian Churches our motto is: "Where the scriptures speak, we speak; where the scriptures are silent, we are silent. In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love."
